Time for another lovely home cooking recipe today. This one is nice and simple once again and takes only a short while to prepare. Cooking is best in a slow cooker but can be done in the oven if necessary.
1 tin butter beans
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 chicken stock cube
Preparation / cooking
Pop your sausages under the grill and turn regularly to brown the outsides.
Chop your onion, potato and carrots into chunks and pop in a saucepan on a medium heat to soften a little.
Once they've softened a little add your sausages that have browned.
Add the butter beans, chopped tomatoes and stock cube to the pan and mix well.
To cook in a slow cooker you now transfer the contents to one and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
To cook in an oven transfer to a casserole dish and bake at 200 / gas mark 6 for about 20 minutes.
Serve once cooked through.
It's as easy a that!
This is a lovely meal to warm you up on those cold winter evenings, is simple and easy to do and can be adjusted to your tastes. You can add or remove different veg to give different flavours and different nutrients if you wish.
Why not experiment with different flavour sausages too? My local farm shop has a lovely range of good quality sausages that I use to keep changing the flavour of the finished meal.
Grab some ingredients and give it a go!
