I think one thing people (including myself) really struggle with when trying to live a healthy lifestyle is the constant temptation of comfort foods such as puddings. I'm also a firm believer that if you want to be successful in living healthy then you shouldn't have to give up anything completely. I believe that moving to a healthy lifestyle is all about replacing the bad with the good. Today I'm going to show you how to replace a loved recipe with something much healthier, and I think it's tastier than the original too!
Pancakes! A favourite for many people but we don't eat them too often. Maybe that's because we know they're not great for us, especially with spoonfuls of sugar or golden syrup on them. Well read on to learn of a way to replace those processes carb heavy, gluten packed pancakes you've alwaysade with something altogether healthier.
Banana pancakes are taking the world by storm (maybe a bit of an exaggeration there) and here's how to make them:
- 2 eggs
- 1 banana (riper the better!)
- Whisk the eggs in a bowl
- Mash the banana
- Mix together
- Add some coconut oil to a pan
- Heat it until very hot
- Add a bit of the pancake mix (should get 3 or so pancakes from it)
- Flip when one side is cooked
- Take off heat and put on a plate
- Add favourite (non-sugar based) topping
And it's really as simple as that!
Not sure what toppings to have? Try some of these:
- Pure natural maple syrup
- Organic cream
- Chopped fruit
- A mix of the above
- Drizzle of lemon juice
- More banana!
The options are endless, but just remember to avoid processed sugars or your healthy pudding isn't that healthy anymore!
Give them a go and see how you get on!!!
