A dear friend of JB Health has organised a 52 mile bike ride along canal paths from Bradford on Avon to Britsol and back again today. There are over 50 people of all ages and abilities taking part in the event, including us! The event raised over £3000 last year and we're looking to raise even more this year in the memory of Nicks' family member - George - who lost his battle with cerebral palsy in March last year at the age of 9.
Every year there's going to be a bike ride to raise money for different causes in the memory of George. This year we're raising money for some of George's old classmates at The Thomas Wolsey School. We're trying to raise £20,000 to help contribute to a sensory outdoor classroom to provide stimulation and pleasure for the disabled children that go to the school. They experience the world almost entirely through smell, touch and sound due to their disabilities. It's also a big undertaking to get the children out of the classroom and into the countryside so they often spend a lot of time indoors. This classroom will help with that.
There's already enough riders, and it's too late to get involved by taking part, but if you feel this is a good cause and would like to show your support then the easiest way to donate would be through the online Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/georgesride. Thanks in advance for anyone that does reach into their pocket and donate - its very much appreciated!
Anyways, we're off to get warm and ready to our bike ride and pray to the weather gods too! We hope you feel it's a good cause and can spare even £1 to help us out - it all adds up!
